*NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC:* The Code of Judicial Conduct governing behavior by judges forbids the Judges of the Fifth Judicial Circuit to discuss pending cases with the public. Please do not call the Court expecting to speak with a Judge about any case. The Court is only allowed to consider arguments made in the courtroom and in documents properly filed by actual parties in the case as authorized by law and the Rules of Court. The Court cannot ethically read or consider any other opinions or arguments about the case. Communications that do not meet these legal requirements cannot be forwarded to the Judges.

Setting Hearings

To set hearings, you will need to go to this link to schedule.  https://go.oncehub.com/JudgeScottSchedule

All of the required fields should be entered on the form and any additional information that you wish to provide.  All hearings will be heard in Courtroom 2C for the notice of hearing.

If anyone is planning on attending by telephone of hearings more than 15 minutes, you must still file a motion and send to the judge’s Judicial Assistant, Becky Knipe, a proposed order by U.S. Mail or email at bknipe@circuit5.org. You will need to schedule your telephonic hearing by contacting CourtCall to set that up at least 2 days in advance of your hearing.  Their phone number is 888-882-6878.  Do not panic if you do not receive your signed order for telephonic appearance, as long as there are no objections from the opposing party, it will get signed.  The telephonic appearance is for non-evidentiary hearings.  No motion or order is necessary of hearings that are 15 minutes or less.  If a party wishes to appear by CourtCall for more than 15 minutes, there must be an agreement of the parties for an order granting the appearance.

My Judicial Assistant, Becky Knipe, is also available for your questions or other emails.  Her telephone number is 352/401-7810.
